CurrentLaw Enforcement Lieutenant Colonel / Assistant DirectorIn support of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ mission to safeguard consumers and protect Florida’s agriculture and economy I am responsible for the following:- Supervise 240 sworn and 65 non-sworn personnel assigned to the Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) - Responsible for 23 FDACS Interdiction Stations and all OALE Criminal and Regulatory Investigators statewide. - Make policy and strategic decisions related to Intelligence and Analysis Section (IAS) staffing and subsequent support of IAS staff to the Florida Fusion Center, the Domestic Security Coordinating Group Executive Board (DSCG) and DSCG sub-committees to include: Specialty Response Teams, Critical Infrastructure, Prevention Awareness and Planning, Emergency Response and Recovery. - Serve as Incident Commander for the OALE Incident Management Team (IMT), as well as direct response of personnel to natural disasters, domestic security incidents, special events the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and deployment to impacted zones throughout Florida and the Southeast United States. - Oversee the Bureau of Investigative Services, responsible for the investigation of all agriculture, consumer service and economic crimes, which fall under the jurisdiction of FDACS such as, but not limited to: farm and livestock theft, fuel theft, identification theft and fraud, wild fire arson, etc. - Oversee Regulatory Inspection Service personnel to ensure regulatory compliance by private sector businesses within the scope of FDACS. - Oversee the Bureau of Uniform Services, responsible for the inspection of bills of lading on shipments of agriculture, horticulture, and livestock entering and leaving the state of Florida to ensure legislative compliance.
