I seek to break down cultural limits and perceptions of music. With an eclectic blend of classical and contemporary music education, I am a multi-faceted musician who endeavors to create and perform musical experiences that connect humans from different contexts of life.A performer, a recording artist, and a voice teacher since 2016, I started studying voice privately at 12 years old in Panama City, Panama. Notable teachers in my formative years included Kasagia Jiménez and Carlos Tovar. After completing my B.A. in Professional Music at Berklee College of Music, I deepened my practice by studying with celebrated soprano Margot Pares Reyna, as well as by taking workshops with David Meyer (CCM Institute, Shenandoah University), Melissa Cross, and Natalie Weiss, among many others.Challenging Panama's lack of female representation in directorial positions within performing arts spaces, I have spent the last five years gaining experience in orchestral, choral, and musical theater conducting, having served as director for a number of productions, including: "The Addams Family" (Teatro Pacific 2020), "21 Chump Street" (NIU Productions 2017-18), "Theory of Relativity" (NIU 2017). Notably, I served as vocal director and arranger for Agustin Clement's original musical "Que Arranque el Rock" (Teatro en Círculo 2018), in which I won the award for "Best Sound" in Premios Escena, Panama's yearly theater industry awards. Towards the same goal, I have attended the International Conducting Institute's Czech Workshop & Concert twice: in 2017, and again in 2019 (cond. Brahms 3, 2nd mov.) In addition, as guest conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Panamá, I conducted Mozart Eine Kleine Nacht Musik, 1st mov. in a tribute night to José Antonio Abreu, and served as assistant conductor of the same orchestra for "Bernstein at 100" (cond. Beethoven 7, 2nd mov.)During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was able to complete "Conducting from the Podium", a month-long virtual workshop by Broadway music director Bryan Perri (Wicked, Jagged Little Pill), hosted by Theatre Music Directors (May 2020). I was also invited to attend a virtual lecture by celebrated Professor Mark Gibson, facilitated by Maestro as Professor (December 2020), and additional virtual lectures in 2022 by Girls Who Conduct.My latest musical pursuit has consisted of self-releasing my first original project, Aquella (available on all digital platforms). This pop project is composed and sung by me, and produced by five-time Grammy award winner Pablo Governatori.
