Key responsibilities are the day to day management of the 2nd line team proactively planning to ensurethat the service desk continues to meet expected SLAs. This role must also work closely with the 1line team leader to identify trends, common issues, peak periods and resource the 2nd line team.

Ensure the day to day running of the Data centre using a BMS system and responding to any issues.• Responsible for logging service calls with internal support teams and 3rd party vendors for all software and hardware faults.• Monitoring overnight backup jobs via backup exec for all servers Wintel and Unix based. Changing tapes and operating robotic tape libraries.• Monitoring and first port of call for the Data centre and all desktop PC’s.

Responsible for supporting a customer estate of more than 100,000 staff members involving 300 bespoke applications and 40,000 desktop clients on one of CSC’s largest and leading accounts National Grid. Responding to 1st line reported faults, resolving a range of desktop, server related faults and GPRS configuration issues.  Administering and maintaining asset records and creating and administering domain user accounts. Liaising directly with internal National Grid customers and external clients to resolve a range of technical issues in accordance with service standards and deadlines SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Panasonic toughbooks and all quarterback mobile devices. Incident, problem and change management related to customer incidents
