About Daniel Barragan

My name is Daniel and I’m a second year at Santiago Canyon College. I am double majoring in Economics and Business. At the moment I am searching for a specific career that fits my desire to formulate economic policy at the federal level. I love to work in advocacy. Currently I do so through my position as vice president of our associated student government. But I’ve advocated beyond my college, like in Washington DC, not once, but twice. The first time I got to speak directly to representatives of my area about a range of topics like Pell Grants and Dreamers. The second time I attended a town hall with congresspeople to discuss issues affecting people impacted by the foster care system like homelessness, access to education, and food insecurity. I want to use my Economics degree to go into a career of policy making so I can create better outcomes for everybody. I also want to pursue leadership as I enjoy helping others, communicating with people, and being a voice for the voiceless.
