I was required to step in and pick up as required across a diverse portfolio in local government. I ended up: working with a team of youth editors to get The Bold Source issue 2 to print; helping operations and sporting venues communicate covid; writing speeches for the Mayor; helping to keep NAIDOC and Seniors weeks on the agenda.

Assisting projects on climate change in the lead up to Fiji's hosting the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the UN Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) with RMIT and the University of the South Pacific. Participating in a content co-creation project with Planète Radio / France 24, University of the South Pacific and the Institute of Research for Development (IRD), New Caledonia.

Identified the policy basis and stakeholder partnership for the ABC national exclusive announcement “end of AIDS as a public health threat in Australia.” Resulting in record media mentions of HIV/AIDS and increase of public awareness at a national level and $15M increase in federal funding.

Responsible for corporate communications, including membership, social media, media & government relations. Achievements include: growing social from 200 to 2,500+; website visits increased from 1,000 per month to 1,000 per week. Increased baseline funding from successful acquittal of funding by $200,000 per year. Positioned the organisation as the go-to for HIV related matters in the media. Worked in partners to create health related content for film, dance and literature e.g. HIV Justice Film Festival 2014 (ACMI); Victorian College of the Arts drama school performances. Engaged at a high level across business, the arts and community with the meeting of the International AIDS society in Melbourne, AIDS 2014.
