I am a public health scientist with training in the environmental and social determinants of health. My research interests fall at the intersection of energy, health, and inequalities globally and domestically. While pursuing my doctorate, my dissertation work focused on household energy and air pollution in rural Ghana. I collaborated with Ghanaian researchers to understand the health effects of household air pollution, and the social determinants of clean fuel uptake. Now, as a postdoctoral researcher, I am refining skills in exposure science and environmental epidemiology in relation to health disparities in the United States. My training includes advanced quantitative methods, spatial techniques, implementation science and policy evaluation. Prior to doctoral training I was a program administrator for a network of federally-qualified health centers (Hudson River HealthCare) and then a public health diversity pipeline program at Columbia University Medical Center. My responsibilities ranged from grant writing, grant management, program development and coordination, and evaluation. Outside of my research and professional activities, I am a Governor-appointed member of the New York State Minority Health Council and a Senior Fellow of the Environmental Leadership Program.
