I led a research and development team that explored the creation and use of a no-code platform to replace existing bespoke integrations.

I was a key individual in designing the architecture for the company’s new platform management system using microservices.

I was involved in the company’s migration from a PHP monolith to an event-driven microservice architecture using Go, from internal tooling to integrations.

I worked as part of a remote team that was involved in many aspects of Quidco’s technology platform. Most of my time was spent maintaining the company’s core REST APIs, and working hand-in-hand supporting the company’s mobile team.

I managed and launched the company's new website, which included tasks such as development, server setup, deployment, and liaising with suppliers.While at the company I also designed business cards, product packaging, newsletters, signage, internal documents, and various other marketing materials.

Initially joined to assist in development of the company's new ERP system, built on Sage X3, I ended up taking over front-end responsibilities, assisted architecting middleware, and refocused development efforts to be sustainable with the creation of reusable code and tools.Conceptualized and developed a product that inspired the company to create and formalize its very own Labs department, which was dedicated to innovation and research & development. The labs department was comprised of various seniors from different fields (engineering, electronics, etc...), where I was the digital development lead. I was involved in projects that received global attention, press, and even a Loerie Award. During this time, technology and innovation I created was shared with all the software developers throughout Barrows, that improved workflow, robustness and execution of their own various projects and team goals. Most of my time was split between designing and developing a REST API utilized by several special projects, which I enjoyed creating immensely, and providing technical leadership and closely mentoring various colleagues within the company.I also worked on new major release of the company's procurement platform, and even the company's internal lunch booking system.

Shepherded the back-end development team working on a large, complex internal system and various bespoke special projects. Ensured the website production team operated as a cohesive unit. Mentored and trained both teams of the development department significantly, from best website development practices, right through to creative direction. Personally developed the majority of new websites and integrated them into the company's custom content management system, while scheduling, liaising with clients, quoting, tending to support requests, training other departments, testing, assisting remote employees and conducting monthly performance reviews.

Responsibilities included the design and development of websites, desktop applications, online booking systems, video games, presentations, corporate identities, branding and consultation. As well as all the administration tasks that are necessary to run a business, such as liaising with clients, quoting, invoicing and project management.

My primary role, but not limited to, was being the company’s Senior Designer and Flash Developer. I designed websites and corporate identities; helming creative direction for the company and its clients. I often managed a project from beginning to end, not only in design, but developing it myself as well. I also served as the company’s technical director, ensuring the company was adopting the latest technology and good development practices.
