Practiced and implemented Agile Project Management principles, gave tech talks to both technical and non-technical audiences, developed numerous applications in short periods of time, learned important human soft skills and communication techniques required when working in a team environment, learned and implemented new technologies rapidly, and made some really wonderful friends along the way. Core technologies used during this course were: Javascript (ES6), React, Git, Github, HTML5, CSS3, and SASS, Tailwind, Node.js, Express.js, REST APIs, SQL Lite, MySQL, Knex.js, Heroku deployment, Auth0, Stripe, TDD with Jest and React Testing Library, Bash / Zsh.

I started Auckland Gardening Limited when first arriving in New Zealand, and built it into a successful and self-sustaining company. During this time I developed the company website using React to capture client leads, and a separate job scheduling software for employees to use and track tasks, job opportunities, and recurring work. I built relationships with property management companies for ongoing regular maintenance. I built and managed all aspects of the business including payroll, policy and procedure documents, finances, and job scheduling.

I was appointed as Account Manager of Design Industries where my role included liaising between clients and developers, gathering client requirements, as well as suggesting features and improvements. I became project manager for a number of projects where I took a project from conception, planning, costing, development and testing, through to completion.

I was appointed as Technical Writer for i-Lotus International. My job was to review technical data sheets and create user manuals for GPS hardware and GPS fleet tracking software. Succeeding in this role I was promoted to Marketing and Communications Executive where I developed marketing materials, and the company website. I also designed the user interface for the fleet tracking software and worked closely with senior developers to integrate the design.
