I am currently a VP, Senior Credit Underwriter at Encore Bank. Here, I underwrite commercial credits in both the real estate and C&I space through analysis of borrower and personal guarantor financial statements, tax returns, and collateral strength. Additionally, I complete underwriting models for cash flows, real estate project analysis and projections to then utilize in commercial credit memos. After earning my BSBA in Finance from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I immediately started my career in commercial banking as a Credit Analyst I in the Wholesale Loan Operations Group of Wells Fargo. In this role, I analyzed and spread company financial statements into Moody’s Risk Analyst and ensured compliance with covenants per their loan agreements. After that 6-month contract, I moved on to the Financial Analyst Program at Wells Fargo and graduated from the 6-month credit training program known as “The Development Hub,” with the highest scores achieved by an analyst in the program and began working as a Financial Analyst in the Charlotte Business Banking Group, before eventually being moved to Region Coverage in a company restructure. In the Charlotte BBG and Region Coverage, I evaluated the credit worthiness of new and existing borrowers with revenues between $5MM-$50MM through analysis of business and guarantor financial statements, identification of quantitative trends, qualitative factors, and collateral strength to mitigate risk to the firm. I was promoted out of the Financial Analyst Program a year early to a Credit Analyst III in the Charlotte Middle Market Banking Group. In this role, I managed and completed underwriting/annual reviews of two complex loan portfolios with total outstanding credit exposure of $140MM consisting of investor real estate (IRE) and commercial & industrial (C&I) borrowers with revenues between $50MM-$500MM. I also served for six years in the United States Army Reserve, and attribute much of my personal and professional development to my time spent serving.
