Whether I'm working on architectural-scale video installations, interactive film experiences, environmental portraiture, or digital film campaigns, I bring my lifelong passion for creating striking photographic images to everything I direct.As a creative director and cinematographer, my productions are hi-tech yet agile, digital and DIY, a working style I've embraced since my time running a studio and gallery space in downtown Philadelphia. I'm most excited when I can collaborate with artists, musicians, scientists, and scholars through filmmaking to discover inspiring stories for mission-driven and academic institutions.At Closely, we specialize in mindfully lensed filmmaking for experience design – short film campaigns photographed specifically for immersive environments.We are creative partners with innovative design studios and brands for campaigns, documentary, architectural, large format, and non-linear video focused on best-in-class digital cinematography.

Dan believes that being involved in every aspect of a film is critical to picking up the intangible qualities that reflect a client’s mission and needs. With a background in interactive digital media Dan excels at tailoring visuals for specific installations — whether that means building a robotic camera rig that matches the behavior of a coding language or capturing unique perspectives for interactive digital experiences. He honed his nimble, flexible style collaborating with artists and musicians before launching a creative filmmaking program at Bluecadet, an Emmy-winning experience design agency in Philadelphia.
