As an independent board member, C-suite executive and nationally recognized thought leader, I've engineered transformational growth, innovation, and new business models in a dynamic, regulated industry. Skilled at anticipating market demands coupled with sound values and responsibility to customers and community has enabled me to navigate industry complexities to create a nationally recognized health system known for delivering exceptional care. Formerly, as President and Chief Operating Officer of Fairview Health Services, a $5B integrated health care delivery system, I architected and led growth initiatives, M&A, and innovative management that expanded Fairview’s revenues over tenfold during his tenure. I've raised the performance bar on multiple fronts as I drove enterprise initiatives that successfully improved quality, value, service, innovative partnerships and growth at operating unit and enterprise levels.Previously, while serving as System Senior Vice President at Fairview, I successfully acquired a 100 provider multispecialty clinic, joint ventured an orthopedic ambulatory surgery center, opened a new joint venture hospital and brought system-wide services in house resulting in significant operational savings.Currently, I'm providing strategic and operational consulting to regional and national health systems. With a down-to-earth, congenial and collaborative style, I actively engages others to consider innovative but pragmatic strategies. Building rapport with industry leaders and key stakeholders has enabled me to develop new business relationships, partnerships and achieve bold objectives. I was awarded the University of Minnesota Board of Regents Chair for service, and currently serve as a Faculty Advisor to the graduate program in Health Care Administration at the University of Minnesota, and as an Executive in Residence with the Health Management Academy in Alexandria, VA.
