My family’s life motto is the sentiment that any problem, big or small, can always be solved if you work with others. This is a philosophy I have started to see the merits of as I have progressed through my pharmacy career. As a first-generation student, I have always valued education both as a vehicle for self-improvement and as a way to improve life for my family. In all aspects of my life, I have always been a hard worker who goes above and beyond in my endeavors and for anyone in need. I thrive on independent learning and working through tough challenges on my own, but I have found more community and enjoyment in the work I do, when collaborating with peers and colleagues.As an aspiring clinical pharmacist, I bring these qualities of open communication, collaborative practice, and empathy into my pharmacy career. Currently, I am a third year PharmD candidate who always strives to be an active contributing member of my community. My involvements include Internal Vice President of ACCP – Gainesville Chapter, Residency Forum Chair for Kappa Epsilon Pharmaceutical Fraternity, and Personal and Professionalism Director of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy’s Student Ambassadors. I am most proud of the commitment and work I get to put forth in the organizations that have helped shaped me into the leader that I am today. My work with these organizations has bolstered networking connections between pharmacy students/faculty and provided a wide array of practical pharmacy experiences while building a supportive community of student pharmacists. Outside the classroom, I am a pharmacy intern at Select Specialty Hospital Gainesville. Through the clinical experience I have gained throughout this position, I strive to be a better advocate for my patients and members of the community. I will bring these qualities and experiences with me both to build myself up to be an effective leader in this field but more importantly be an effective team player who can adapt to best serve my patients. I am open to connect with my peers and continue to advance our pharmacy profession together!
