As Project Director for the Adolescent Trials Network (ATN) CARES Project at UCLA, I was responsible for the day-to-day implementation of two randomized controlled trials engaging youth living with or at-risk of HIV in Los Angeles to optimize the HIV Treatment and Prevention Continua.

Developed and submitted grant proposals, supplements and annual progress reports to federal agencies and private foundations, including the development and justification of budgets in up to $2.5m in direct costs per year. Developed and maintained ethical protocols for research projects involving human subjects, including annual reviews of adverse events, study progress and plans for the coming year. Monitored ongoing studies, maintained communication with domestic and international study teams, and provided training (via Skype) related to IRB applications, manuscript development and tracking, and other topics, as needed. Contributed to manuscripts, completed journal submissions, responded to revision and production requests, and ensured compliance with the National Institutes of Health Public Access Policy. Supervised undergraduate research assistants, providing regular feedback on tasks (e.g., literature reviews). Coordinated logistical and scientific aspects of the Alcohol, HIV and Bio-Behavioral Research Conference Series with partners in South Africa and Uganda. Contributed to CHIPTS' renewal efforts, including collecting and presenting data on outcomes related to scientific, networking, training and capacity-building accomplishments. Coordinated CHIPTS Cross Core, Associate Director and Community Advisory Board meetings. Coordinated and participated in interviews for T32 postdoctoral trainee candidates, on-site statisticians, and other positions, as needed.
