Assistant Director Of Nursing
• Managing the daily operations of a 32 bed Emergency department• Creating schedules for over 117 employees which included RNs, NTs, EMTs, & Paramedics to ensure that the department has adequate nursing coverage every shift• Coaching staff to improve performance & handling disciplinary actions as necessary following the just culture algorithm investigation tool• Creative Problem solving from DEI leader toolkit used to handling conflict between staff when necessary, encouraging them to be inclusive of others & get back to embracing teamwork• Manage & investigate submitted SZPs• Project management from DEI leader toolkit used to tracking key business metrics & making recommendations for proactive adjustments to policies & procedures• Produce daily reports to hospital administration in areas of emergency department volumes, wait times, and patient satisfaction • Monitoring the department budget, reviewing quality metrics the healthcare system is focusing on for the fiscal year, & strata• Interviewing, hiring, & onboarding all staff• Renewing NA license for the employees in the department• Manage quarterly & end of the year staff check off and requirements, & iCompass conversions • Strategic Leadership• Leading staff & charge nurse meetings• Rounding on patients to ensure they are happy with their care in our department• Rounding on a set number on employees every week to ensure they are satisfied with their job & if there is anything leadership can do to help them• Audit patient charts to ensure staff are compliant with their documentation• Take part in many meetings that affect the daily operations of the department, working with our inpatient departments to decrease boarding in the Emergency Department• Daily System wide meeting focused on decreasing boarding across the organization in all Emergency Departments including free standing ones• Served on the HCAHPS which forced on patient satisfaction scores, patient experience, LWBS, & LWCC
