Danielle McCarthy, a Gold Star wife, unexpectedly lost her husband, David, a U.S. Veteran, in 2017. His body was brought to Sunset Mesa in Montrose, Colorado to be cremated. One day, she received a call from the FBI informing her that the cremains she had may not be her husband after all. As a result of the FBI investigation, Danielle learned David’s body had been sold without her consent and later learned it's not considered illegal in the state of Colorado. I have always been a CareGiver. I have several fond childhood memories of caring for my Grandfather. Later in life, I shared the tender passage of my Mother-in-Law along her final path and eventual passing. Now, I care for my Husband, a journey of CareGiving, which has slowly become more & more engaging, and became my fulltime endeavor four years ago. My personal and professional endeavors have related to my inherent CareGiver nature. I am a wife and mother. I have been an Interpreter, a Special Education Teacher, & a Mentor. Now, I am excited to combine all those experiences into a Coaching and Mentoring endeavor, empowering others to care for their Loved Ones facing chronic illness or disabilities, and most importantly to care for themselves. Vibrant CareGiving focuses on the well-being, self-care, & self-nurturing of CareGivers. As CareGivers, we have a tendency to consider our needs last, which can be detrimental to our very purpose of Caring for our Loved Ones. Vibrant CareGiving provides coaching, support, and resources for CareGivers to better care for themselves, in turn resulting in better care for their Loved Ones.
