As an independent consultant, I work with school districts and nonprofit organizations to improve public education through better human capital management, as well as by fostering mutually beneficial partnerships with like-minded nonprofits and foundations. Past and present projects include:- Launching and managing an Emerging Human Capital Leaders program that has developed and coached 160+ school district, charter management, and nonprofit leaders for senior-level talent roles- Creating and implementing human capital curricula and tools for multi-day convenings of large urban school systems- Facilitating training sessions for principals on how to recruit, select, and retain top teachers- Conducting human capital audits that help organizations understand where they are & prioritize areas for improvement- Conceptualizing and creating talent data reports for school districts to provide to principals- Writing white papers on key human capital topics in education- Raising more than $7 million in funding for various projects

During my time at the NYC Department of Education, I worked in various positions in both Human Resources and the Office of Strategic Partnerships/ Fund for Public Schools. In my most senior role, I led a team of 50+ employees to assist more than 5,000 teachers annually in gaining certification quickly and easily so they could focus on the more important work of improving their instructional practice. I also conceptualized and launched online technology systems to better share HR updates, news, and data with schools, central, and field offices. Prior to my work in Human Resources, I assisted in raising more than $70 million in private funding to support the New York City Department of Education’s key leadership priorities, including a Leadership Academy for principals, human capital reform, parent involvement, and a budget reallocation process.
