I was responsible for month end close items including account reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting. I was also responsible for monthly invoicing including fixed invoices as well as time and material invoices. I prepared weekly cash forecasts for the CFO and other executives. I also met monthly with various business units to review financial forecasts and to update as needed. I am proficient with Excel, including Vlookups and Pivot tables.

I was responsible for a team of 16 full and part time employees. My department was responsible for the documentation, billing and collections for 12 locations. We worked with insurance companies such as Medicare, Medicaid, BCBS and other private insurances and ensured that all billing was done within their contracts and with all necessary and appropriate codes and allowables.

My main responsibility was to obtain quick and correct payments from Medicare. I was successful at bringing a $500,000 Medicare aging down to $160,000 in less than 1 year. I followed up on all denials and appealed them as necessary. I also kept in contact with patients to ensure we were billing Medicare correctly.

I handled a territory in the U.S as well as a European territory and made collection efforts with our lighting dealers in those areas. I was responsible for making sure that our dealers made timely payments to ensure future deliveries of equipment.
