I grade the SAS and R code of 60+ students for each weekly assignment as a Teacher’s Assistant (TA) for the graduate course, ECO 520 “Business Analytics Using SAS & R,” as well as grade the Python code for undergraduate students as a TA for BUA 302 “Predictive & Prescriptive Business Analytics” and am also the sole tutor for the undergraduate economics courses (ECO 105/106 “Principles of Micro/Macroeconomics” & ECO 304 “Analytics for Economics”).

For this position, I organized and maintained financial records using multiple accounting software programs, as well as documented financial transactions, prepared balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports. I reconciled financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information, computed taxes owed, prepared tax returns, ensured prompt payment, and maintained the inventory, online catalog, and main website. I was solely relied on to handle all the bookkeeping, tax filing, accounting, clerical, and administration work for the company while simultaneously managing and operating the company’s second location on my own each day where I greeted customers, answered the phones, took in customer repairs, conducted retail sales, and maintained a meticulous database of customer and service information records.

This role granted me the authority to lead the team of economics and math Supplemental Instructors by conducting their training, sitting in on their sessions, offering performance reviews and advice, and meeting with the entire group weekly. Within the same department was the Peer Education Achievement Council (PEAC), of which I was also a member. In both these positions, I was responsible for planning and conducting Math TA training sessions, collaborating with other PEAC mentors to develop ways to improve the SI program and come up with outreach and marketing strategies, and meet with mentees to troubleshoot any difficulties SIs were encountering.

In this role, I planned and conducted two one-hour collaborative study sessions and held one office hour per week for students in economics courses seeking additional instruction. This required me to facilitate activities in sessions that promoted collaboration and further understanding of the material, as well as maintain records of attendance, lesson plans, meeting minutes, a study resources blog, and post-session reflections.

Conducted individualized tutorial sessions for students seeking academic assistance. Maintained all records required to document student's attendance and academic progress.
