Technical executive position responsible for pioneering and leading the Risk Science service within the Security & Resiliency global practice. Additional duties include sponsoring the Data Science profession globally and chairing the Data Science Board.

This technical executive role focuses on the quantification and prediction of IT risk and the prescription of appropriate response through the development of platform-based, enterprise-grade data science solutions.

As one of the first four practitioners named to the newly created Principal Data Scientist job code in IBM, apply data science tools and techniques within the Information Security domain. This role is made up of two distinct components. The first is acting as an STSM and advising Risk & Compliance Management executives. The second is acting as the Risk Leader of the Global Technology Services Security Program Management Office. The latter includes assessing risks of penetration testing findings against solutions.

The role focuses on risk management leveraging principles from actuarial and data science. Examples include modeling audit occurrence and success, as well as the estimating the probability and impact of potential cyber security threats.

This role is responsible for developing and implementing an analytics governance model, the management of a Center of Excellence for Analytics, as well as leading key cross-delivery analytics efforts.

Building upon the previous role, the STSM, Competitiveness position focuses on optimizing positioning in the marketplace in terms of quality, cost, efficiency, and offerings, as recognized by current clients, potential clients, and industry analysts. This is accomplished through the combination of global leadership and application of technical skills, primarily in the areas of statistical analysis and data mining.

Components of this role include include recommending and leading the execution of global strategies for the quality and metrics of an organization of 15,000-20,000 professionals. Metrics in the areas of quality of service, productivity, operations, and financials are analyzed and reported utilizing rigorous best practices of statistical and presentational techniques. In addition, this position includes the creation and coordination of presentations and client references for key industry analyst competitiveness studies.

Adding responsibilities to the previous position, the Technology Lead portion of this role involved representing a global organization of 15,000-20,000 professionals with regard to tool and technology strategy, adoption, and best practice identification and deployment.

This global position focused on the continual improvement of service quality in terms of service level attainment and customer satisfaction across a portfolio of hundreds of clients. Specifics included education, data analysis, and the utilization of quality methodologies such as Six Sigma.

In partnership with a Senior Technical Staff Member, this role provided advanced statistical analysis and education to a North American organization of over 3,000 professionals. Of unique importance was the development and delivery of a 36 hour Six Sigma Green Belt course that resulted in students working toward certification from the American Society for Quality.

Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina Area

Building upon the prior position position, added responsibilities involved setting standards and providing leadership for a team of Business Analysts supporting various Service Desks across the Southeastern US. In addition, this position demanded a key business and technical role in the development of a "one stop shop" metric data warehouse and reporting tool that is still in use by several thousand professionals in multiple countries.

Duties included steady state metric reporting and ad hoc SQL query and data analysis in support of e-business Service Desks.

Fort Wayne, Indiana Area

Time was divided between Service Desk and Desktop IT support on site at the client location. Responsibilities included leading a transition of additional scope and insourced employees into existing processes and culture.
