Working in the family business always raises eyebrows; the age-old questions "How do you work with your family?", "Do you see your family out of work?", "How do you switch off?", but in all honesty, I wouldn't have it any other way. I started in the office, working as a Junior, learning the ropes. Over my first 3 years, I learned every role in the business. I covered our loadout teams, including the night shift. I helped in dispatch, manned reception, learning how to assist in audits, and of course, customer service and data entry. During our growth, we highlighted the need for a better OHS system, which lead me to take on that role while working in our office team. The more we grew, the more I needed to work on our safety. In 2014, CoR legislation began to be enforced, and I took the title of Safety, Compliance & Accreditation Manager, although my time was still split among many departments. I maintained that title, and the multifaceted role, all the way through to June 2021, where the multi-facet roles became individual ones. We outsourced my Safety, Compliance & Accreditation Manager role, shifted some of my other tasks, and I took on the General Manager role. This has seen my multi-facet skillset put to good use and I look forward to the future!
