Driven by: Principal-based leadership for improved organizational agility, balanced and sustainable results with empowered teams that continuously improve and strive toward lean effectiveness.20 years leading design and manufacturing quality globally have taught me that just following a ‘system’ can limit if not cripple an organization. My current role involves leading various business units and working with their leadership, focusing on People and Foundational principles for good design and process (Quality & Reliability). “Good” being “Job well done, on time, on budget, people excited”.My recharge is by spending precious time with my wife and two dogs, spending time with family and friends, or embarking on ambitious DIY projects or surfing. Where there is opportunity - my time is spent learning, thinking and exploring innovative approaches to leadership, organizational excellence and profitability centered on reliability and quality principles. Continually building on observed gains from start up initiatives that I’ve led and built: integration of AI-assisted algorithms, designed-for-collaboration mechanisms, and visual cause and effect mapping.

Quality And Reliability ConsultantSymcosys Aug 2013 - Jul 2015TexasDaniel led several years of deployment and iterations of a next-generation collaborative risk management process that unites issue and information management, FMEA, and FRACAS. In 2013, he founded SYMCOSYS to continue its evolution, and to also offer software applications for organizations to build a risk-based thinking culture without the impediments of classical FMEA.During this period of high energy interaction with industry and the reliability community in the USA, Daniel presented at two Applied Reliability Symposiums, one World Conference on Quality and Improvements and several smaller speaking engagements. -
Reliability Specialist And LeadHalliburton Jan 2012 - Aug 2013CarrolltonParticipated and led portions of the reliability program implementation initiative for the Completion Tools division. Responsible for and led the introduction of a reliability program to the largest sub-product service line of Sand Control Tools (and Service Tools) and also to another sub product service line of Sub-Surface Products. Gained high levels of acceptance within 3 months, allowing for greater use of reliability tools such as Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Design of Experiments (DOE).High usage of FMEA led to the invention of a software tool and submission of a patent. The patent is for a new approach that is graphical, backed with computer programming to increase the effectiveness of FMEA sessions. This led to higher than usual adoption rates, and effectiveness in sessions completed in multiple locations.Completed several analysis including the use of Weibull, Fault Tree and Minitab. -
