Dan Logan is an award-winning producer of documentaries, newsmagazines, in-depth interviews, and breaking news. A smart, creative storyteller with over two decades of experience, Dan has been honored with a Peabody award, an Overseas Press Club award, five Emmy nominations, and two Emmy wins, among other accolades. Dan has produced over twenty documentaries for CNN, hosted by Fareed Zakaria – intelligent, in-depth, primetime hours that have been some of the network’s most-watched and most-honored programs of the last decade. His specials have examined the most urgent stories of the moment – including an in-depth investigation of Vladimir Putin; an hour on the U.S. Supreme Court; an examination of the Obama presidency, featuring a 90-minute interview with the president; an investigation of white supremacy in America after Charlottesville; a look at the Mueller investigation; a history of impeachment; conspiracy theories in the age of Trump; Xi Jinping’s China; Kim Jong-un’s North Korea; Mohammed bin Salman’s Saudi Arabia; and the threat to American democracy, featuring the Harvard scholars who wrote “How Democracies Die”. Dan received Emmy nominations for “Global Lessons on Healthcare,” a globe-trotting investigation of healthcare systems around the world; for “China’s Deadly Secret,” an examination of China’s role in the pandemic; and for “A Radical Rebellion,” looking at the transformation of the modern Republican Party. He earned an Emmy award for “How the World Sees America,” a look at America’s place in the world during the Trump administration. And Dan’s highly acclaimed hour in 2011, “Fixing Education” – featuring lessons for America from South Korea and Finland – was honored with a Peabody award.In addition to producing documentaries, Dan was a long-time producer of the weekly program, “Fareed Zakaria GPS” – CNN’s popular Sunday morning hour, featuring in-depth panels and interviews, newsmagazine segments, and opinion pieces. Dan produced every type of segment on the show – writing and producing a weekly commentary, in collaboration with Fareed. Dan also filled in as executive producer of the program – including an hour that featured an exclusive interview with President Barack Obama in 2015. Logan began his career at “Now on PBS” – an award-winning weekly newsmagazine hosted by Bill Moyers and David Brancaccio. His first-ever segment, “The Healthcare Franchise,” was honored with an Emmy award – and his expose on child slavery in Nepal, “Daughters for Sale,” earned an Overseas Press Club citation.
