During my first stint at the Press-Register I started on the universal copy editing and design desk, working the news shifts. I soon worked my way up into the Living Department, where I designed Entertainment sections, Religion, Food and other special sections for the newspaper.

My responsibilities included copy editing, page layout, page design and, best of all, beer writing, throughout my nearly 10 years at the Press-Register newspaper. I started in news, working the copy desk for national, local and state news, then switched to the Living department, where I was able to tap into my creative juices to have a to of fun with the pages I was designing.

I was responsible for nearly all printed graphical material for the 19 sports that comprise the athletic department at the University of Alabama. Projects varied, from media guides to billboards to trading cards, Jumbotron graphics and more.
