I head the Storage and Compute project stream of a $34 million dollars Critical Asset Replacement Program of work to uplift ICT infrastructure and applications at Victoria Police. This draws on my ability to work with ambiguity, and tailoring my approach to move people towards a shared goal to deliver projects with diverse and complex infrastructure technologies consisting Dell EMC SAN Storage, Dell EMC VxRail Hyper Converged Infrastructure, Azure Cloud Computing, Firewalls – Cisco and Checkpoint, Cisco Cloud Email Security, Exchange Online, Cloud and on-premises Integration Platforms - Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), MuleSoft and webMethods.

Drawing on personal experience of building a successful hospitality business with Pho Heaven, I currently provide business coaching in the following areas:• Pre-purchase inspection – perform due diligence to assess the value of business for potential purchaser (profit and loss review, market position, potential business growth).• Business Start-up – Business Plan Development (identifying market niche, Site Selection, Lease Negotiations)•Evaluation of technologies to streamline workflow and reduce on-going costs – Point of Sales (POS), website ordering, Table QR Ordering, online payments, food partner (UberEats, DoorDash, Menulog) integration to limit manual order entry.• On-going business support – planning for the future and ensuring business is nimble by reviewing cashflow, overheads, profitability.

After over 20 years in the corporate environment, following my passion in food, I opened my first restaurant business – Pho Heaven. The business was well received by the local community and has a reputation for quality authentic Vietnamese food and friendly customer service. In 2018, within the first six months of opening, Pho Heaven won the Menulog’s The Best Vietnamese in Melbourne’s West and in 2022 Pho Heaven was awarded a recommendation badge by Restaurant Guru. Over the short five years in operation, the business has weathered over two years of uncertainty of numerous lockdowns during the pandemic. While many of its’ competitors have permanently closed their doors, Pho Heaven has continued to be a thriving business. The success and viability of Pho Heaven through challenging times of the pandemic can be attributed to my strong financial and business management as well as my resilience character and personal life experiences.

Leveraging off my strong IT infrastructure experience, I supported the program management function for ASG’s IT management and consulting services on the United Energy & Multi-Gas (UEMG) account. I managed a portfolio of Infrastructure projects across the disciplines of End User Computing, Midrange Support (Wintel & Linux), Storage Support, Network Management, Facilities Management and Batch Management. Out of a project portfolio of $880 thousand dollars in value, I have successfully delivered projects with a combined value of $450 thousand dollars. Being a client facing role, I provided the first call of escalations for all infrastructure delivery projects in the areas of contract management, account management, presales activities including quote estimations and the execution of these projects.

Automatic Weather Station (AWS) Communication Upgrade projectThe AWS Communication Upgrade project objectives were to modernize and achieve a highly reliable data communication of the AWS network with cost effective cellular and satellite communication. I was hand picked by the Network Services Program Manager to ensure success of the remaining 18 months of the project, which were budgeted at $3 million dollars. This required the development and system integration of a secondary satellite solution to ensure network diversity as well as a successful bid for $1.2 million dollars of capital for the final year of the project (FY2014-15). This role relied on a strong background in Government procurement, vendor and contract management to deliver operational and project outcomes.Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) project The project went through a full procurement process to acquired and implemented Raritan dcTrack for tracking of over 25 racks of IT assets – power, network ports and rack space allocation. This streamlined the workflow around provisioning and decommissioning of equipment in the newly provisioned data center.Second Data Center (SDC) Project The SDC project is part of the Bureau of Meteorology Enterprise Data Center Program of work scoped at transitioning the existing Disaster Recovery Site to a newly established Tier-3 Data Center. The SDC provides the foundation for additional operational redundancy of current and future Bureau’s ICT infrastructure. The establishment and transition of equipment was budgeted at $900 thousand dollars with an on-going 10 year Data Center lease of $22 million dollars. NG-ASOS is a five year $22 million dollars project to replace 600 Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) approaching end of service life, by introducing cellular network redundancy and satellite communication, achieved higher frequency of observation data and centralize the processing of observation data.

This role incorporated project management, performance and capacity management expertise for many technologies and platforms across UNIX, Linux and Windows environments. The primary function was in the maintenance of tactical and strategic plans of multiple projects across Telstra’s Transformation Program of work of ensuring physical IT resources are cost justified and accommodates the customer’s current and future business requirements. A majority of the transformation projects involves infrastructure planning and design utilizing VERITAS Cluster Server (VCS), Sun Cluster and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) on UNIX platform.

I worked on multiple projects in the Infrastructure Lifecycle Management program of work to mitigate currency risk of Telstra business critical and core systems (Tier-1 applications) ensuring they are architected correctly and utilize infrastructure that is current and supported. I was involved with all aspects of project management including Telstra’s Technology Delivery Process – analysis and recommendation, solution definition, build and acquire, implementation and post-production support. Developed strategic presentations to assist Program Manager obtain funding justification for projects within Telstra’s Asset Replacement Program.
