24 year old recent graduate (3.68/4 GPA). My course was Bachelor of Information Technology Majoring in Games Design & Development. I have a passion for programming and have been continuously improving my skillset for the past 12 years since I first developed an interest.University also allowed me to explore what parts of programming I enjoyed more than others. I really enjoyed my systems programming class where we used C, C++, as well as assembly, where we disassembled programs to gain a better understanding of code. I ended up with a mark of 98 for the class. I really enjoyed the low level programming due to having control over the memory thus having greater potential for writing high performance software, as well as gaining a better understanding of how code builds and eventually executes on the hardware. I also quite enjoyed my graphics programming class as it was also relatively low level, plus it involves quite a decent bit of maths which I enjoy (received a mark of 94 for the class).Currently, I am reading A Tour of C++, with plans to read Effective C++ and Effective Modern C++ to gain a better understanding of the C++ language. Also currently reading Game Engine Architecture while working on building my own game framework from scratch in C++.C# is the language I first taught myself programming with and is the language I have used the most at home on personal projects. At my current job, I work mainly with VB.net and Typescript/Javascript, as well as a small amount of Java and HTML/CSS. At University, we were mainly taught with Java, but a few lower level classes we worked with C and C++, also used HTML/CSS and Javascript a small amount, and Python for Artificial Intelligence class.
