My role involved working as a full stack developer within a dedicated and agile team, focused on enhancing our member platform. On the frontend, I utilized React 18 to create dynamic and user-friendly interfaces, and blazor for internal business use that underpin the system. For the backend, I employed C# in conjunction with SQL databases, all orchestrated through microservices and REST Api’s running in Azure Kubernetes and docker containers. All code changes were developed using TDD or BDD patterns with tools including jest, xunit, fluent assertions and browser testing automation tools.I regularly delivered new features, addressed and resolved bugs, performed system upgrades, and conducted spikes on required technologies or to enhance requirements to feature changes and code reviews. Our development process was highly agile, alternating between Scrum and Kanban methodologies to best suit the needs of our projects, using either Azure DevOps or Jira, and participated in daily standups, retros. product reviews and sprint planning.A significant aspect of my role was staying abreast of the latest advancements in technology and sharing this knowledge with both the backend and frontend developer communities. I frequently presented on current technological changes, including innovations in Expo and advancements in artificial intelligence through the Semantic Kernel and OpenAI API. These presentations aimed to foster a culture of continuous learning and prepare our team for future integrations, particularly as we anticipated transitioning more of our services into Azure as these technologies matured. By bridging the gap between emerging technologies and practical applications, I was able to contribute significantly to the transformation and modernization of our member platform, ensuring it remained competitive and responsive to the evolving needs of the Health and Care industry.

Providing Technology Services

I joined Eon to provide technical expertise in development within a service management department as an IT contractor. This role involved in working in a 3rd line technical role in providing bug, performance and new features for a major application for customer services, that supports 3000 users and millions of customers. The application is based on WPF, WCF, REST API, Oracle pl/sql, javascript, telephony and office add-ins. My role also involved refactoring, developing a service management tool that supports 200+ users, utilizing asp.net with multiple javascript ibraries and angular technologies with typescript. Within the current period of uncertainty I have been mentoring other technologists on c#, web coding, and emerging technologies ranging from asp.net core, standard mvc, javascript as well as WPF, winforms.

First duties of this position were working with the senior management team in the integration process utilizing my skills in the field of Enterprise Management Systems. The responsibility was to migrate the Egg infrastructure of monitoring to Citi systems based throughout the globle; this required the design of this integration initiative and working closely with Analyst, Engineers and the project team to realize this goal. My other responsibilities include providing Local Management for the Derby location within the EMS field and deal on a day-to-day basis with matrix mangers.My role also required the responsibility of application manager of an application developed years earlier the automated recovery system, this resulted in a requirement of remediation of the application to comply with end-of-live and compliance issues. This resulted in taking on development of the product to upgrade the environment to N-Tier and asp.net, .net 3.5 with Ajax enabled controls, jquery, javascript, .net controls. The application was fully tested through testing for VA, UAT for deployment into production.The final few months have been around wind down activities within the Egg/UK consumer business in coaching and training working with counterparts from different countries around the world, to take on activities carried out by myself.

Throughout my career at Egg. I had been working within a Service Architecture Team for the seven years as a Technical Authority. This role combines many disciplines, architecture patterns and principles within a service orientated architectural environment, In the first three years I have been working hands-on with capacity management and implementation of new technologies around enterprise management systems, utilizing BMC products and developing this with architects, project management and vendors to reduce cost, reduce MTTR, resilience.I have travelled to many sites which included our European operation, working with development, other architects and project managers to provide infrastructure support/design of EMS and managing this remotely from the UK base. In this time I had also managed small teams of contractors in the delivery of a new EMS architecture, .My role also involved solutions for UDA’s which falls outside the development department and programme projects, Examples are a change management system that supports over 300 users, automated system recovery system that has proved to save millions, I worked closely with sponsors’, change & operation management, to plan requirements and for the new systems, and lead a team of developers to develop these in-house bespoke systems.The automated recovery system named HMS was developed using .net 2.0 with C# and asp.net using vb.net, .net controls from various vendor sources and the data resided on sql server 2000.Change management system which the application was developed using .net 3.0 and C# at the application layer utilizing windows workflow, asp.net, vb.net and Ajax on the presentation layer and sql server 2005 for the data layer, and configured in an N-tier environmentIn the last 6 months before transferring to Citigroup I worked on integration projects, as well as taking a hands on role of development to automate manual tasks undertaken by a department which was subsequently disbanded.
