Part-time contract position.Duties included:-providing reference services (in person, over the phone, and via e-mail)-readers' advisory-weeding/collection development-creating reading lists on Bibliocommons-assisting patrons with computers and other technology-answering the Information Oakville line and providing information on Halton Region community services, etc. -gave a book talk at the Evening for Book Lovers in front of 300 audience members-gained familiarity with: SirsiDynix Horizon ILS, microfilm viewers, netloan computer booking software, Libraries on the Go/OverDrive Media applications for eBooks/eAudiobooks, and interlibrary loan system (ZPORTAL).This position was 100% on the reference desk, so I have gained valuable experience providing reference services to the public and have received a number of notes and emails from satisfied patrons.
