Government and foundation grant writing for Declarations Inc. A non-profit that provides supportive housing and the like for the psychiatrically complex populations; along with individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.

The Quality Assurance team primarily works to ensure the company and all of our field staff (clinical and non) provide and document their CSS services correctly under the regulations and guidelines of Medicaid, CSS and DMHAS. Quarterly reports are provided and presented to the board members to ensure continual financial growth and positive changes to policies, procedures and staff education.

Program Development:In this role I was in-charge of growing the census for the community residential program and 4 day programs within New Jersey. I would assess all referrals for community placement from closing developmental centers, psychiatric facilities and out of state psychiatric facilities. Through my initial assessment, I would gauge wether I would head to the facility to perform my initial assessment to gauge the needs of the individual at this current time (with deterioration of all abilities and what environment would suite them best). If deemed a good fit for the placement, I would write my proposal for placement which would be read and scanned by all governing and private entities to allow for this individual to be served by REM New Jersey. Upon approval by the state and their guardians, I would facilitate the transition of the individual into his/her new environment. Training:REM New Jersey allowed me to facilitate and coordinate the new hires training for all new employees that would be working in the group homes, Day Programs and all other facets of operations within. Billing:All individuals that are being served by REM New Jersey needed to be put into our billing system to allow the company to be paid for services provided. I did all necessary document retrieval and submission; along with billing coding and all there needed requirements for the company to generate money for their services. Company Liaison:I served as a liaison for the company in many places. I would sit on panels as a representative of the company for educational forums for parents/guardians of individuals that would be transitioning into the community. I also sat in on all meetings that needed company presentation for advocative purposes of the individuals I was transitioning in.
