Working in the Digital Engineering & Emerging Technology team, my work has included the following:1. Project at Genomics England: As a Product Manager I led a team of 12 developers and QAs, delivering a back-end platform that serves two front end applications being developed by adjacent teams. These front-end applications form part of the NHS’s Genomic Medicine Service and are used by NHS clinical scientists to diagnose cancer and rare disease cases. 2. Project at Kaplan: As a Business Analyst, I helped deliver the discovery phase of a programme to streamline Kaplan’s core business - which is supporting international students to find university places in the UK or US - through the implementation of a new CRM solution and through the creation of a bespoke new web app. I was responsible for creating a backlog of functional and non-functional requirements, based on running workshops with senior stakeholders, mapping requirements to business processes, and factoring in insights from over 100 user research interviews.3. Business development: Contributed to and helped coordinate the writing and editing of 12 proposals and bids, including several which resulted in EY winning projects.4. Providing coaching, mentoring and “counselling” (EY equivalent of line management) to more junior members of staff.5. Internal knowledge sharing: I have given talks on Agile in Multiple Teams, and Planning With OKRs, and I have helped set up and run the Product & Delivery Management Community Of Practice.6. Self-study: Using time between projects, I have completed approximately 25 hours of e-learning on each of the following “EY badge” topics: Artificial Intelligence, Applied Artificial Intelligence, Solutions Architecture, Cloud (AWS), Inspiring (Leadership), Management Essentials and Intelligent Automation. For Sonova, a multi-national in the healthcare sector that is known in the UK as Boots Hearingcare, I worked for 18 months in a delivery manager / business analyst role on the discovery, design and delivery of a native mobile app for the control of hearing aids. As well as controlling the hearing aids, this app also enables users to locate stores, book appointments and to join video appointments during which their hearing aids can be adjusted remotely by an audiologist. Product owner and scrum-master for a team delivering multiple iOS apps, an Android app and a web-based content authority tool for tablet-badsed language learning in language school classrooms. Working with multiple divisions within the company as customers, we designed and developed a suite of apps for to help both adults and children learn English and to assess their progress. The apps were used by at over 200,000 students in 400 schools across 50 countries.

End to end project management of a new website for CQC, starting from user research and helping get the business case signed off, through building a new internal team and procuring & managing multiple new suppliers, to launching the new website. Managed and reported on budget of £650k.

Project manager and product owner for both a UX redesign of the website and the development and launch of a new “My account” section integrated into the site that allows residents to interact with the council’s systems for benefits, council tax, resident and on-street parking. Managed and reported on budget of £650k.

Change management project, helping design and roll-out a cross-department web content publishing workflow, with an accompanying training and accreditation programme and creation of a central support team. Worked mainly as a business analyst, running workshops and producing process flows and forms but also acted as project manager, managing budget of approx. £350k.

Various projects working within programme office during a three-year programme to migrate content, tools and transactions from hundreds of websites owned by dozens of government departments into Directgov (forerunner to GOV.UK). I ran a pilot content migration project and produced various analysis to assist the planning of the programme.

Project managed the build of two new websites (PhotoAnswers.co.uk and GoFishing.co.uk) for one of the UK’s biggest print magazine publishers.

Web Manager in Brand Management department, responsible for day to day management of Visa’s estate of public-facing websites. Product/project managed the redesign of these sites, managing multiple suppliers. Also managed a look & feel update and usability enhancements on Visa Online, the extranet used daily by hundreds of banks, including the implementation of new navigation and a document search feature. Ran my own user research. Matrix managed internal personnel and multiple suppliers. Managed budgets up to £600k.

Coordinated a programme of content updates to the website. Created a set of web standards, guidelines and processes. Worked with a supplier to plan development work needed to make website AA accessible and compliant with the e-Government Metadata Standard.

Interim Web Manager and project manager for redevelopment of merton.gov.uk. Site re-launch was followed by a x5 increase in traffic. Designed the site’s IA and look & feel. Worked with a trainer to train users on CMS and coordinated multiple business teams to re-author 1000+ pages of content. Ensured website was AA accessible without any budget for an external accessibility audit (had to become an expert myself). Also responsible for operational management of website and intranet, line managing two web editor/designers.

Assisted to plan, produce and publish content for the Learning section of direct.gov.uk.

Created a new section on the BSI website based on content from the website of Inspectorate International (world’s third largest commodity trade inspection company, which had just been acquired by BSI). Coordinated with stakeholders at various levels within both BSI and Inspectorate, and with an external design agency.
