I left home (North Wales) at 15 to join the Royal Navy, my career as a Marine engineer began on steam ships and continued for 25 years, I gained first hand knowledge of steam, diesel and gas turbine machinery as well as all the associated systems.I was very involved with maintenance and repair together with ship safety ie fire fighting and damage repair.I left the RN in 1995 to run a commercial security company, unfortunately the company folded in 1999 and I found myself HGV class 1 driving . Following this I found work with a generator service company and worked there until I got my CORGI registration and have been servicing boilers up to 2Mw since.I would like a change but am unsure what !
