Like many people today, my experience runs through several different fields of employment, beginning with 20 years in the United States Army, followed by a 10-year stint in operations; managing call centers and fulfillment centers for major retailers in Seattle, Washington and Dallas Texas. After a few years, it was time to give back, I joined the American Red Cross. As the Assistant Director of Disaster Services, I was responsible for planning and oversight of all logistics, training, as well as the deployment of volunteers to disasters outside our geographic area. This also included my deployment on six Federally declared disasters.After four years, it was time to broaden my view in Emergency Management and I accepted the position of Manager for the Public Health Reserve Corps (MRC) of King County. This position allowed me to continue to support the citizens of our county in times of disaster or medical emergencies. In April 2018 I “retired” from that work.Today my time will be spent helping on an international scale with ShelterBox, I look forward to becoming more deployable in the year ahead.
