As an Estimator / Project Manager, I work closely with project superintendents to ensure smooth project coordination from the job set up stage until the end of the project. It is imperative to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the client’s Project Manager as well as my Superintendents and Job Foremen. I am responsible for managing every project awarded until completion to include providing accurate estimates to customers, visiting the jobsites regularly prior to bidding and during construction, handling any onsite issues that arise, providing the superintendent with updates regarding any changes to the project, and ordering all specialty materials and equipment as needed, all in a timely manner.

In the time I have been with Parsons, my role has primarily been estimating. Working alongside the engineering team, I have estimated large scale construction projects which include a dam in Fargo, ND and a light rail extension in Seattle, WA. It was a necessity to coordinate with the design team and management to ensure that all changes to project parameters with the client were accounted for.

My time with Trinidad was cut short due to the downward trend of oil prices. During this time, I assumed the role of field supervisor for the construction of new build drilling rigs. My duties involved working with manufacturers to ensure the proper production of equipment and structures, along with the proper assembly of all equipment in the field.

My involvement includes organizing purchasing and tracking of materials, working with colleagues to ensure all upgrades and repairs are being performed in a timely manner (field supervisor), and working with our finance department to track spending progress.Field work has included an offshore rig refurbishment in Dubai, UAE. Working closely with a team of approximately 20 individuals, we deconstructed, refurbished, upgraded, and reconstructed a platform drilling rig over a four month period. My duties for this project included designing, testing, and implementing various structural and mechanical components while managing a crew of 15 men. Office tasks deal primarily with estimating expenditures for clientele based upon specific rig component requirements. I am constantly in contact with multiple equipment vendors, so that we may have up-to-date costs and specifications for new equipment that will be implemented in upcoming projects. Completing these projects provides an overall picture of entire rig requirements, layout, and estimated cost to construct.
