I worked as part of the PLS-Telematics team. We were responsible for maintaining the Spring Java services that collected and analyzed data from phones, vehicles, and other devices. The data was used by programs to provide discounts or usage based pricing to customers. Built Apigee configurations for both in-bound and out-bound vendor APIs. The services were deployed as a Docker image to AWS via Harness. Data storage was in Postgres and DB2 databases.

Working with the Message Center team I designed new REST APIs using the Swagger tools and the OpenAPI specification. I implemented new APIs as a Java Services including a full suite of automated tests using JUnit and JBehave. Worked with team to maintain and upgrade existing services and EJSs.Provided support for operations and customers as needed.

While part of the Network Engineering department, I am the tools guy for the region. I was the regional subject matter expert for corporate tools such as Granite, NetworkFlow, SQM and SevOne.I designed, created and supported several applications for use throughout the region. I used Java, PHP, Visual Basic, Oracle, MySQL, Apache Web Server, Apache Tomcat, shell scripts and batch files to create the tools needed. I maintained two Ubuntu Linux servers to house many of the applications. I installed and maintained several third party applications such as WorkFlow Tool, shift reporting tools, and calendars.

I was asked to come back to the network side of the house when network management bought a tool kit from WatchMark that collected data from various switching elements. I used the WatchMark tool, an Oracle database, Java, shell Scripts, FACE screens, HTML, and CSS to build two related tools.The first tool was what we called a NOC is a box. It monitored the network by collecting log data from switch elements, and parsing them into information and alarms and storing them in an Oracle database. Alarms where then sent via e-mail, pager, or text message to the appropriate technician. If the technician didn’t acknowledge the alarm it would be escalated.The second tool collected capacity/performance data from the switching elements, stored the data in an Oracle Database, and allowed Engineers and Technicians to monitor the performance of the network.

While working at the call center I worked with a team using Visual Basic to enhance and maintain the interface used by Customer Care representatives. This tool had to be kept up to date with the latest marketing promotions.While there I built a network service that would queue requests from Customer Care representatives, access the Cellular switch via a serial port, and return phone number information to the rep while they were on a call with a customer.

I was hired to be the OMP administrator. The OMP was a Sun Sparc Unix box that was part of the cellular switch. I installed and administered multiple servers with Informix SQL databases to collect data from switch elements. One collected call detail records used for fraud detection (FraudTech) and cellular network capacity/performance data (Autopace).Also designed and built automation for configuration of the cellular network using Visual Basic, Excel, and Unix Shell scripts.

I received Basic Training at Fort Dix, New Jersey.I went to Fort Gorgon, Georga for may advanced training in "Automatic Test Equipment Repair."The deployment of the equipment I was trained on was behind schedule, so I was assigned as a Driver for the post Protocol office. My duties included:- Drove visiting general officers and dignitaries to official functions.- Set up military ceremonies for awards, metals, and promotions.- Built a database to generate mailing lists for invitations to functions hosted by the commanding general.
