A Higher-Degree by Research graduate with professional experience across teaching, administration and support roles. High level written and oral skill, proven by my academic record and professional experience. Both my study and career to date has been about people. Working together to help others to achieve their study-related goals. I have a proven familiarity with UQ systems including CRM, StudentHub, Drupal, Blackboard and Reportal. I am also competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and I have some familiarity with the Adobe suite, especially InDesign and Spark. I am comfortable in one to one and group settings e.g. disability support referrals, mental health triages, study skills assistance, accommodation advice and financial hardship assessment. I have gained experience from both my academic and professional roles in public speaking and presentation delivery. I taught pre-university international students in the fields of Academic English and research. At UQ College I designed and delivered a series of workshops on study skills, motivational sessions and lifestyle sessions (e.g. Mindfulness, Goal setting). I have facilitated and delivered workshops for international students at UQ, and accommodation advisory sessions, Experience serving on interview panels, and in the administration and recruitment of Participation Assistants for Diversity, Disability, Inclusion. Developed new role of Student Support Officer at UQ College. The role was created to increase retention rates. This role required a high degree of initiative and personal drive as well as the ability to set targets and strategically plan to achieve them. Planned and designed the website, promotions, application and assessment procedures for the Tertiary Access Payment, a new scholarship provided by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, Organised and facilitated UQ College and UQ events e.g. the Welcome Lunch, Mental Health Week initiatives, and Open Day events on behalf of Student Services.I am keen for any opportunities that would allow me to expand my skills and experiences in the private or public sectors.
