During this period, I have been Scrummaster on a number of projects and have mentored developers on agile methodology and test-driven development. I have been involved in the following: - Worked on BigHand's suite of client applications, using technologies such as PRISM 5, Unity (IOC) Entity Framework 6 and SQLLite - Designed and implemented a new services layer to support claims-based authentication using .NET 4.5 and the Thinktecture Security Token Service- Worked on a web-based administration tool employing ASP MVC 5, Entity Framework and JQuery- Added multi-language support to the speech recognition engine and improved server availability so customers could better utilise resources across multiple locations

During this period, I worked on a large number of projects, both design and implementation. These included:- A WCF layer to operate alongside the legacy comms mechanism enabling BigHand to provide a cloud-based solution to clients with minimal configuration- The audio engine and server synchronisation mechanism within the iPad app BigHand Go (objective-c) - Pluggable client and server components (C#/WPF/RESTful WCF) that enabled documents to be rapidly imported into the workflow system and then efficiently assigned - A pluggable client component (C#/WPF) that enabled customers to view and rapidly move documents between workflow steps - Improved audio encryption within BigHand's proprietary file format- Improved (and future-proof) secure credentials storage- Full workflow auditing within the database using SQL triggers and transactional replication enabling BigHand to provide a rich reporting suite to customers- Back-end services using WCF and ADO.NET

I helped to develop all aspects of BigHands voice-driven workflow system, from improving the performance of the bespoke client-side database (C++/STL), adding features to the main client GUI (Visual C+/MFC), as well as optimising the service layer and SQL stored procedures.

Wellington & Wairarapa, New Zealand

During this time I helped to develop and support PATHWAY, the claim management system for the New Zealand Accident Compensation Corporation. I also lead a team of four developers in creating a more efficient system for entering claim information, where most of the claimant data was able to sourced externally via MQSeries and XML.

I worked to enable the EasyScreen trading system to be receive live feeds from the Chicago and LIFFE futures exchanges (Visual C++/ATL). I also worked on an improved method to calculate risk in futures contracts and updated the software to support different exchange protocols.

Langley

I developed plug-in COM components using Visual C++/ATL for an e-commerce application, including the integration of a credit card validation system. I also developed an XML schema mapping tool which made it easier to support different exchange protocols.

Welwyn Garden City

I was part of a small team developing PLASMA, a real-time teletext management system using Visual C++ and T-SQL. I also produced the technical specification for a proposal sent to INMARSAT, and wrote a simulator for a flow cytometer machine for Bio-Rad Laboratories.
