I have always worked in a technical environment, beginning my career as an Aircraft Mechanic for British Airways before undergoing a second apprenticeship in Domestic Natural Gas Maintenance, where I worked as a Technical Engineer for British Gas. I was responsible for servicing, fault-finding and repairing domestic gas appliances, central heating/hydronic heating and hot water systems. This included the use of flue gas/combustion performance analysers and replacement of electronic PCB's. During this time I gained experience on products from manufacturers such as Bosch, Vaillant, Worcester, Ariston, Ideal and control systems including Honeywell and Landis & Gyr. During my time at British Gas I completed a NVQ Level 3 in First Line Management and was the designated team mentor responsible for the training and development of apprentices and new engineers. After moving to Sydney from the UK, I spent over 2 years at Select Solutions ( a division of AusNet Services) where I was responsible for all aspects of safety testing of Domestic, Commercial and Portable Gas appliances to Australian Standards in a NATA certified laboratory, and providing detailed test reports to certification bodies such as the Australian Gas Association (AGA) and SAI Global. This included working with clients to develop their products to comply with relevant requirements, providing a high level of support to maintain and build relationships.Throughout my career I have worked to and consistently over achieved on strict KPI’s whether they be technical, customer/client related or sales based.. I have developed excellent problem solving skills as well as outstanding communication skills through liaising with people at all levels including Engineers, customers, merchants, manufacturers and managers.
