I am a retired Naval Aviator with a second career in accounting. I passed the CPA exam in November 1996 and earned my CPA license in 2001. I have worked in the industry since 1992 in one capacity or another. I have worked in educational accounting in the early 1990's and since 2011.I currently am the Business Manager for Logos Public Charter School in Medford,Oregon. We are the state's largest charter school (other than a state-wide online only charter school) with nearly 1,000 students. As Business Manager, I handle all the financial aspects of the school (audits, data analysis, payables, receivables, purchasing, facilities, compliance reporting, etc.). In addition, I have several years experience in Human Resources and management. I have written over one-third of the school board's policies and co-authored many of the others as well as the annual Employee Handbook. I have written with guidance from legal counsel all of the school's personnel contracts for the past 4 years. I am the Facilities manager and review and approve all vendors for Logos.Before I was the Business Manager for Logos Public Charter School, I was one of the original school board member and involved in the setting up of the school and initial policy formation.
