I am currently working as Chief steward/HLO on the Mariner A pIatform, i am also a rig safety representative and recently completed my Managing safely IOSH course. Ihave been working offshore in the catering industry for over 20 years starting with ESS in 2004 as a steward before changing company to Sodexo Remote sites due to a TUPE. I become a safety rep and lead steward which i carried out successfully on the Borgsten Dolphin for 4 years before being promoted to Chief steward on the COSL Rival and then on to the Borgholm Dolphin in the same role. I have completed all management in house training that could be given by Sodexo and i have also in my leave worked many times in the office helping the HR department with disciplinary investigations and also chairing disciplinary hearings. I also helped recruitment with screening for new employees and also interviewing potential employees. On my current installation i am part of the management responsible for a team of 18 staff and my previous job a team of 23 so i am used to managing many different personalities and problems if they arise. In the last 12 years i have been a Chief steward i have also been responsible for running the bond on a rig with over 300 POB in the past. I am also in charge of the training and safety training on board, competency assurance and many more. I am currently in a dual role along with HLO for the platform, responsible for the safe flight operations to and from the unit.
