Proud to serve as a Commissioner on the Mayor’s Commission on African American Males (MCAAM), where I work to improve opportunities and outcomes for Black men and boys across Philadelphia. As the Founder and Executive Director of Bridges of Opportunities, my passion is empowering Black and Brown youth and ex-offenders. Our organization offers leadership development, mental health support, and trauma-informed services to create pathways for a better quality of life within our communities. Through executive leadership training with the Black Nonprofit Chief Executives of Philadelphia (BNCEP), I've gained valuable skills and collaboration opportunities, adding to a foundation built on lived experience. My commitment to community goes beyond Bridges of Opportunities. I’m involved in transformative initiatives like the MacArthur Safety and Justice Challenge and the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition. I’m also exploring fellowship opportunities to amplify my impact, break down barriers for credible messengers, and push for systemic change in our city.

Committee MemberBncep Jul 2023 - PresentPhiladelphia, PaThe BNCEP was founded in June 2020, amidst COVID 19 and the aftermath of the George Floyd murder. An affirming and supportive space was needed for Black nonprofit leaders to discuss and process the changing racial climate where they were living/working, and to offer support for each other during a difficult time. The first meeting convened 24 attendees via a Zoom call. Since that time, the group’s membership has grown to over 140 members. The BNCEP remains a supportive space, but its value proposition for members is its ability to be a viable learning community for Black nonprofit leaders. In addition, BNCEP membership affords one an opportunity for strategic partnerships; professional mentorship; and information sharing to become more effective leaders for the communities they serve. -
