David Carroll was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and is a graduate of Ohio University. After college, David began his career at the Cincinnati Zoo, one of the country’s top 5 zoological parks, where he cared for a variety of domestic livestock and the interpretive collection (birds of prey, reptiles and small mammals). He was also fortunate to move into the role of Assistant Cat Trainer, where he worked with and learned from the world-renowned Cat Ambassador, Cathryn Hilker – arguably the world’s foremost cheetah expert.David then went on to study farrier science at the highly regarded Kentucky Horseshoeing School, where he studied equine physiology, anatomy and biomechanics under Mitch Taylor, one of the top equine educators and clinicians in the country. From here, David enjoyed a successful 17-year farrier career, specializing in performance horses and lameness cases. Due to the unique physical demands of farrier work, David eventually sold his farrier business and joined the team at Birds & Animals Unlimited in Orlando, Florida.As part of the Birds & Animals team, David worked as a show host and animal trainer at Universal Orlando Resort, where he gained tremendous hands-on training experience with a wide variety of animals, and exotic birds. David then moved to Los Angeles where he worked with a local outfitter providing trail rides through the beautiful Griffith Park and helped prep and wrangle horses for production. On a fun note, David also worked for the world-famous Beverly Hills Hotel on the side as a valet. He never thought he would have the opportunity to drive multi-million-dollar super cars and meet and interact with just about every Hollywood celebrity you can think of, along with international royalty.David now works for American Humane's Movie TV Unit based in Universal City Los Angeles. "No Animals Were Harmed" David himself is now based in Miami Fl, traveling the country keeping our animal actors safe on set.David enjoys music and plays the piano by ear. Although no longer in Los Angeles, David still enjoys numerous trips to La La land each year to ride his horse Scout in beautiful Griffeth Park. Love Los Angeles!
