I see my role at Smartrak as driving the Vision, Strategy, Design and Execution of Smartrak's infrastructure and core EyeQ platform.

I started at Smartrak in 2009 as a contractor to build a Rostering system for what was then Transfield Services, and have been here ever since. I then moved on to build a Visual Reporting Suite, lead the design and development of Smartrak's internal CRM system and develop Smartrak's Pool Booking System. One of the most exciting and rewarding projects I've ever worked on was development of a new milk collection system for Fonterra. During this time I lead a large team of Developers driving the project through requirements, design, development and testing. In retrospect I discovered that I'd been performing the roles of Product Owner, BA, Project Manager and Developer, and that although I was stretched very thin during this time, I discovered skills that went way beyond coding. Many lessons were learned during this time, this was also my first experience with scrum and agile. I then moved into the role of Team leader of the team responsible for Smartrak's EyeQ platform.Some of my major achievements in this role include designing and developing Smartrak's pool booking system, leading the development of the Fonterra Tanker In-Cab navigation and milk collection system, design and development of a Bus Allocation system for Public Transport Victoria, Leading the development of Smartrak's CRM system.

I contracted to various companies around Hamilton and Auckland for 26 years between 1989 and 2015. The highlight of this time was my involvement in the development of rapid application development tool, which at the time was quite radical, using it we were able to develop entire production ready applications in hours. Unfortunately were were never able to commercialise it. These were my C++ years.During this time I developed systems for a wide variety of industries including Engineering, Dairy, Insurance, Health, Risk Management, Real Estate, Meat Industry, These ranged from embedded systems and process control to desktop and web applications.
