I am a physician scientist working on understanding the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying cardiac arrhythmias with the goal of developing novel therapeutics. I grew up in Taiwan and moved to Vancouver, Canada at the age of 11, where I obtained my BSc in Honours Physiology from the University of British Columbia. Later I moved to Houston, Texas and obtained my MD and PhD from Baylor College of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Xander Wehrens. Upon graduation I undertook a research fellowship in the lab of Dr. Albert Heck in Utrecht University, The Netherlands, as a Basic Research Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. I then moved to Boston, MA for internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and later joined the lab of Dr. Calum MacRae as a post-doctoral fellow. During this time, I also received training in Precision & Genomic Medicine from the Center of Genomic Medicine at Mass General Hospital as a T32 fellow. Afterwards, I completed clinical training in Genetics at Harvard Medical School and research training with Dr. MacRae as an NHLBI K99 fellow. I started my independent research program in the Fall of 2024 in the Division of Genetics, Department of Medicine, at Brigham and Women's Hospital. When I am not in the lab or at the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my kids and taking them to explore new places.
