Yantai, Shandong, China

Site rep, overseeing the construction of Flare Tower for INPEX, FPSO Venturer, Ichthys project.Flare Tower items, legs, braces, nodes, all to be fabricated in Korea, then transported to DSSC yard in Yantai, China. Then fitted/erected to form 150mtr tall Flare Tower. All fit-up, QC, Welding, NDE, TSA Coating, Sea Fastening & Load out, included.Day to day meetings with both yard & class, acting as single focal point. Reporting back to base office in Korea as required.

Gdansk Poland

Based at Gdansk Shipyard, Poland. Total re-vamp of Semisubmersible Rig, for the Stellar Field, North Sea.New Sponson tanks to Pontoons, & Blisters to Column Legs. New In-Deck steelwork to accommodate new Process equipment packages, & Pipe Racks.New Accommodation & Life Boat station & Helideck.Drawing review, liaise with Shipyard & classification society (Lloyds) on constructability issues. To lead the Shipyard to meet deadline dates and milestones.

Korea

Based at Samsung Heavy Industries, shipyard, Geoje Island, South Korea.The Prelude FLNG is being built with Technip & Samsung as a joint consortium, TSC.Working within the Integration Team, (everything between Main Deck & underside of the Topsides Modules), ie, Pipe Spools, Pipe Supports, Structural Engineered Supports, E&I Supports & Cable Tray , Equipment & Access Platforms. Working with the shipyard planning the installation of these items, before installing the Topsides Modules.Dealing with all day to day meetings with shipyard, & Technip.

Working in China, on a newbuild Semisubmersible Rig, To ensure compliance with specification & contractual requirements.Review of Hull & fabrication drawings.Dealing with day to day challenges, & provide technical expertise in the resolution of problems encountered.

Visits to Korea.Working on the new construction of PC-1 Product/Chemical Carriers.Came to the project at very early stage, & helped to set up the site office, ie purchase office equipment and set up, computers, document files, supplies, etc. The contract is for vessels of size 49,000 TDW, built to a DSEC Korean design. To oversee all construction & implement contract specification.To organize & coordinate the on site project quality/inspectors, & liaise with the shipyard supervisors/managers & classification society surveyor.Quality review of Hull Fabrication shop drawings.Provide support to monitor quality & clarify & interpret specification issues for Hull structural items.Conduct duties in line with the Project Quality Management System.To be the US Shipping focal point of contact for engineering modification / change items, & to mark up & document the rejected inspection report, (NCR) & to facilitate the completion of any re-work.To be aware of any continuous quality problems, & communicate these to the appropriate people in a timely manner.

Scope:Fabrication of all Jumpers and Foundation Structures. Overall Job Objective: Full Responsibility for QHSE and on time delivery performance for in country fabrication process from quayside delivery of parts up to sea fastening on installation vessel.Monitor and report actual against budget costs for entire process to Host Country management and project.Ensure completion and turnover of equipment is conducted per contractual requirements and timely reporting of completed milestones is communicated back to Host Country and Project Team.Liaise with Host Country Project manager on completion dates to ensure co-ordination of installation personnel and prior mobilization of personnel to perform Metrology.Planning of fabrication activitiesSupport logistics planning in conjunction with West Africa logistics team and Norway Main Tasks and Job Responsibilities: Vetco GreyParticipate in selection process and contract negotiations with potential jumper fabricator, liaising with In Country Management, Supply chain and Norway.Ensure all Duplex handling and fabrication processes at sub-contractor are in line with Vetco Gray and specific contract requirements.Review & comment on jumper fabrication scope of work as prepared by engineeringLiaise with Norway Engineering to ensure finished Jumper drawings have detailed information added.Ensure that jumper fabricator receives all assembly procedures, drawings and documents as required.Follow up jumper fabricator towards all contract requirements. Act as single point of contact.Plan for adequate manning at jumper fabrication site during fabrication, testing and mechanical completion by monitoring Fabricators load capacity plans and creating work plans as required to track progress of work.Establish detailed mechanical completion system

Onshore/Offshore Installation, Bonga project Working at Onne, Nigeria. Overseeing the installation of Steelwork onboard an Offshore Support Vessel. Totally in charge of fabrication, NDE, Blasting & Coating, Inspection & installing the steelwork on the Vessel, dsv Bourbon Emerald.The support steelwork was to be fitted to the vessel, to transport Well Jumper Spools from the yard to the offshore site. Supervising the national workers & helping them to keep up a good standard of work. Reporting back to UK office & Shell engineering office in Lagos, contacting people in Nigeria to push the job along.Provide support to monitor quality & clarify & interpret specification issues for structural items.Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment within a multi-disciplinary team.Act as single point of contact.Plan sequence of fabrication activities.Perform checks to ensure that dimensions are within tolerance.Provide all relevant information to CAD Engineers back in UK on a daily basis

Oil & Gas Module ConstructionWorking on the installation of process modules on Shell Bonga F.P.S.O. in construction yard. Since Jan 04, working offshore Nigeria, West Africa, on the hook-up of same project. Looking after, & supervising, British, American, Filipino and Nigerian workers. Working to shells Permit To Work system, & HSE Safety regs. Setting up jobs & controlling materials, rigging and scaffolding work parties to progress the job. Also worked for a short time as AMEC rep, on flotel.Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment within a multi-disciplinary team.Review structural drawings, & carry out routine checks fabrication to ensure required dimensions & tolerances.Working to Shell permit to work systemCompany: T.E.I Position: Structural Supervisor Date: June 02 Wakefield. UK April 03 Power Station, FGD ConstructionWorking at West Burton Power Station, Lincoln, on Fuel Gas Desulphurisation project.This involved construction of 4 absorbers (filters) to take out the sulphur from the boiler exhaust gasses. A lot of the work was to fit 4 & 7 mtr diam ducting together, and a lot of stair towers & walkways & handrails. The steelwork was fabricated in Malta & Portugal, and a lot of clashes with the other steelwork was found, and had to be sorted out. I worked closely with the site engineer to carry out these changes.

Belfast. I was employed in the Build-up Shop, which is where 2-3 units are attached together to form 1 super unit, which is then sent to the blasting & coating sheds. Working with a small project team, to achieve set targets for the units to be completed on time. Controlling & supervising the workers, sorting out problems and looking after their welfare.Perform routine checks to ensure that dimensions are within tolerances during construction.Planning of fabrication activitiesArrange movement of finished blocks to next stage, after sign off.

Surveys & Steel Renewals At Dry DockBased at Gosforth, Newcastle, (UK) visiting ships all over the world, to sail with, and to carry out inspections, to compile a repair specification and oversee the steelwork renewals at dry-dock. Also to carry out Special Surveys (thickness measurement gaugings) close-up inspections to submit a report to the owners and for classification society purposes. Carry out blasting and coating inspections, internal & external coatings. To sign & close out items off the specification list, on behalf of the company.
