Focused on improved production through improved maintenance inspections and plant improvements. Overseeing the implementation and training of a new computerised maintenance system and working with the team.

South Kirkby

Responsible for the general management of the South Kirkby Restore Datashred Site. The role managed a team of 28 Drivers, 5 warehouse operatives, and 5 administrators. In addition held the sites operator’s license for a fleet of 24 vehicles and Trailers. The main focus has been on improving the health & safety culture at the depot and collection performance by increasing revenue and collections per round by rerouting and monitoring performance of both each round and driver. Improved transport compliance and driver behavior by introducing a weekly driver behavior league table to identify issues with drivers This has reduced the number of accident and speeding occurrences and has seen an improvement in fuel MPG.

Responsible for the overall management of a wood processing site which produces bio mass material and animal bedding products. Responsible for a 24/7 operation with 5 direct reports and 23 indirect reports. Over the period of time at the site through continuous improvements production capacity has increased. This is thorough implementing a preventative maintenance regime by introducing scheduled servicing program changing the culture from reactive to proactive. Introducing production planning schedule to increase utilization of the processing capacity of the process plants. Introducing key KPI’s in terms of production and maintenance targets. Working closely with Compliance team in undertaking Site Safety Walks, Near Miss investigation and undertake root cause analysis. Achieved ISO 9001, 18001 & 14001for the site in Apr 2016.

Responsible for the operational aspects relating to The Sheffield municipal collections contract. Team consists of 6 supervisors, 250 employees, and 50 vehicles. Key KPI’s relate to service delivery performance, cost management and health and safety.

Managed four Industrial and Commercial Collection Depots & Waste Transfer Stations Operations, Bulk Waste Haulage Operations with a combined operating budget of £8.2m. Reporting to The Group Operations Director, with a team of 3 direct reports, 120 indirect employees and a member of the Yorwaste Senior Management Team. Achievements:• Managed a compost operation, and achieved PAS 100 standard through implementing procedures and quality testing.• Implemented a food collection service throughout North Yorkshire, so fully conversant with ABPR regulations• Managed an Open Windrow operation at Tancred transfer station• Set up the Bradford operation in order to expand the Industrial and Commercial collections to cover West Yorkshire which brought extra revenue into the business.• Reviewed collections operations and reduced costs by £150k by introducing three double shift collection routes. • Achieved a profit result at Tancred Transfer Station from a loss making position.• Key project member in the implementation to deliver new contracts into the business.• Introduced KPI’s to monitor Trade and Bulk haulage collections performance.
