After the best 16 years of my career, I retired. I was very fortunate to work at wonderful organizations, starting with the Florissant Ice Rink, then DDA, SCI, GEMS, and finally Harris Computer Systems. My time at Harris was the pinnacle because of the people I worked with, the latitude I had to do what was right for internal & external stakeholders, and the Harris Core Values (www.harriscomputer.com/values). My favorite Core Value is Dream Realization! Harris wants to know about each employee's dreams and help them achieve them. My final role as Integration Manager is an excellent example. I utilized the education and experiences gained over my career to help transition newly acquired businesses into Harris as quickly and smoothly as possible. Working with the sellers, employees, customers, vendors, and Harris Corporate experts on dozens of integrations was an incredible honor. While I miss the challenges and rewards of being an Integration Manager and working with the great people at Harris, I am thoroughly enjoying this chapter of my life. I use the skills I honed at Harris to volunteer with several organizations, including things related to Excel such as creating budget/forecast spreadsheets and teaching Basic and Advanced Excel classes. I’m also developing a new talent for the occasional mid-day, workday nap!I am grateful to have been part of making Harris an enduring organization, and I will forever remain a proud Harris alumnus!
