About David Collins

Davids' 33 years as a Registered Architect have encompassed projects ranging from small refurbishments to multi-storey new-builds. As the Senior Associate at CSP Architects for the last 23 years he has worked with most of the Practice's Clients, producing concepts and leading design development through the Planning process. David is also instrumental in leading teams of technical staff to deliver a wide range of Residential, Commercial and Mixed-use buildings in the historic setting of York and the wider region.Trained at The School of Architecture in Manchester, David's love of tactile, organic, sustainable design together with his 3D modelling and BIM skills and a hands-on approach to construction have helped to mould the Practice's award-winning buildings. His experience includes taking the role of Project Architect for City of York Council's new £34m BREEAM Excellent-rated HQ, working with Miller Construction on a complex site incorporating the City's original railway station (Grade 2* listed), a series of modern office floor plates in a glassy enclosure and a new hotel. He continues to work on a number of context-sensitive projects with a variety of uses, mostly within the City of York.
