This was an International Technical College abandoned by a Canadian provider. I was the interim Dean until the appointed principal arrived. My role was to ensure that systems to support educational delivery and quality teaching, learning and assessment were in place.

Kuwait

I was the senior principal of a 3 College co-educational K – 12 IGCSE and A level system education approx 3600 students. Initially the colleges had reported low levels of staff morale and high incidents of parental complaints to the Ministry of Education. We significantly reduced the number of complaints from parents and increased morale with more open and distributed leadership. Increased performance in extra curricula and sports as well as IGCSE results. (12-month contract)

– Smooth day to day running of the organisation and communications with relevant authorities including Ministry of Education, Boards of Governors and Trustees as well as International Educational providers and assessment authorities.– Organisational Improvement and Strategic planning: Accreditation from various bodies and successfully participating in a number of organisational inspections.– Curriculum, Teaching and Learning: Ensuring a curriculum was properly designed, resourced and delivered that met the needs of the stakeholders. All assessments were fair, valid, reliable and fit for purpose.– Resource management: Including fiscal, physical and human resources. Ensuring that resources were deployed in an efficient and effective manner and aligned to the College Guiding Statements.– Community relations and Partnerships: Encouraging all members of the College community had an opportunity for involvement in policy development. Outreach partnerships for sponsorship, resources and course delivery.

United Arab Emirates

Working with Ministry of Education schools to improve performance and build capacity. Worked with 8 schools. These contracts were government funded and dependent upon economic conditions. Prime focus was to build local capacity at Leadership (Principal and Vice Principal) and teacher levels. Due to the oil price drop the government stopped funding.
