Served at various naval commands and training locations, specializing in broadcast journalism, video production, and public/media relations. There are two noteworthy time periods. As a Navy Reserve Officer attached to the US CENTCOM, Oct 2003 – Sep2006, provided all audiovisual coordination for press conferences. Responsible for communicating with general officers and senior DoD officials on satellite link preparations for news conferences with media. Provided weapon system video masking and edit video products. Provided Digital Video and Imagery Distribution System (DVIDS) coordination and management, and visual information support and guidance. Produced and managed strategic communication products for CENTCOM. Performed 74 days active duty with CENTCOM to work audiovisual issues in both CENTCOM Tampa and Qatar.Called to active duty during Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom, Sep 2001 – Sep 2003. As a Media spokesperson and Chief of AV for PA, developed an AV plan for CENTCOM that included modernizing existing AV capabilities to include video editing, weapon system video editing and masking, and UAV procedures for release of masked imagery for public release. As Combat Camera Liaison, established and maintained a library of still and video imagery obtained by combat camera and VI resources in Central Command’s AOR. Managed and coordinated the audio-visual technical direction of periodic press conferences and briefings. Responsible for all coordination with DoD Press Room and American Forces Information Service to establish satellite links for press conferences. As AV Branch Chief for CENTCOM Public Affairs, supervised and directed seven officers and enlisted public affairs personnel in daily operations. Served as PAO coordinator for 76 Coalition country senior officer representatives serving at CENTCOM. Provided country representatives with media training, speaking opportunities and on-camera opportunities with local and national media.

LT Culler served as a combat pool escort, video producer for hometown video spots and Navy desk action officer, Joint Information Bureau, Shahran, Saudi Arabia. During this period, LT Culler's exemplary leadership and adept public affairs knowledge contributed to his implementation of several aircraft carrier media embarks and media visits to Naval units in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. He also produced several video hometown spots for the Navy Broadcast Service and escorted media visits to refugee camps in Iraq. He continued to maintain an extemely high level of leadership, professionalism and determination in a combat environment.
