About David Curry

I started my career in the rural industry working on stations and as a mustering pilot. From here I progressed to Rural Agency, working for the two largest Pastoral Houses of that time, Elders and Landmark. I have always been involved in Emergency Management at some level. Starting as a volunteer fire fighter through to more recently, Incident Control Major Incident (ICMI).While working for Landmark I trained as a SAP trainer and helped with the change management of Landmark with the introduction of SAP nationally. With this I travelled Australia training other Landmark employees in the P2P sector of SAP that Landmark use.During 2013 and 2014 I was travelling NSW engaging Aboriginal Communities to enhance their resilience to the impact of bush fires. This has been a project for the NSW RFS, funded by the Ministry of Police and Emergency Services (MPES).Since then I have been the Regional Coordinator for Region West, NSW Rural Fire Service and have recently returned from a 5 week deployment to BC, Canada fighting fires and was one of two Region West Major Incident Coordinators for the Black Summer fires.I am now partly retired and have a family photography business that keeps me busy.
