Profile bio

About David Warner

I’m a security professional with 20 years of experience in the Technology and Cyber Security industry. I enjoy solving technical problems while improving system security. I also have a passion for helping others learn and grow their careers. A few highlights of my experiences are listed below.1) I’ve worked to develop a secure design course with the goal making applications more secure. The course covers Threat Modeling and the OWASP Top 10 (2021) with examples. I’ve also worked to improve application security through starting a Security Champions program that supplements the software security group.2) I’ve had a vast amount of experience integrating Identity and Access Management systems and services both on premise and cloud environments. In addition, I also am very familiar with authorization methods through delivery of an enterprise authorization system.3) Over my career, I’ve worked as an individual contributor and also as a manager leading teams. Both of these roles have provided the opportunity to help others grow in their careers.4) I’ve worked on several projects for the department of defense that involve software development, system integration, and system testing. Due to the nature of requirements to successful deliver these systems, these projects taught me how to be detail oriented when working technical projects.5) Technology and Cyber Security presents a continuous challenge to stay ahead of the next potential threat and keep systems secure. I embrace this challenge through continuous learning opportunities such as training courses, webinars, podcasts, books, and certifications.Domain KnowledgeIT and Data Security | IT Management | Identity and Access Management | Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) | Cyber Security | Application Security | Threat ModelingCertificationsCISSP | CCSP
